What’s been happening:

It's been a long time since school. First was active duty with the Navy (followed by 18 years of reserve duty and ultimate promotion to commander and retirement with 20 years and 20 minutes of service). After naval service, 8 years as a CPA with Alexander Grant & Co., now Grant Thornton, and a marriage that lasted 6 years. Then on to Computer Sciences Corp. as director of corporate accounting and a new stretch of single life that would last for about 15 years. In between, a CFO job with an NYSE company that has long since died, a startup company as COO, and an entertainment industry company turnaround as CFO. Oh, yes, and I met Karen, the woman that I will spend the rest of my life with-we've just celebrated the first 20 years of that life together this past summer. And for the past 22 years I've run a solo consulting practice helping small companies get their financial act together, writing 2 or 3 books and a hundred or so articles that have been published all over the country. It's been truly a wonderful life, and I look forward to the next 20 years or so with great anticipation.
